From now until the cut off for submission, you can drop off crafts in good or new condition you won’t be needing. Bring it to the store for ticket(s) you can trade for new-to-you goods.
Let’s face it, we’ve all been cooped up indoors for so long now, many of us have taken up a new hobby or revisited an old one. Let’s destigmatize recycling old wares and swap out our finished projects for something new to us.
The cut off for dropping of handmade items in good condition is Sunday April 24th at 5pm at the shop. It can be any kind of craft goods, but we recommend you hold off donating craft or art supplies.
Details
Once you drop off your wares and have your ticket(s), you can trade for a new piece(s) during the Swap event weekend. Dates and times are as follows: Friday April 29th, Saturday April 30th, and Sunday May 1st each day 10am-5pm.
Crafts can be quilts, macramé wall hangings, bags, gear, books, jewelry, dolls, stuffies, games, earthen ware, etc. If it has its usefulness or simply brings cheer, it can be submitted.
The reason I like swapping things is we don’t have to secretly throw something away we know has some value another person may recognize and appreciate more than ourselves. It keeps items from going into landfills and extends the value of these pieces.
